BASKETBALL
Imperial school hosted its maiden interclub basketball competition from the 2nd to the 5th of june 2011. The event which is the first of its kind for a secondary school to ever host, saw the eight(8) elite teams in kaduna slug it out for the ultimate prize of 50,000 naira cash for the first place, 30,000 naira for the second and 20,000 for the third place,apart from the other consolation prizes like imperial branded jerseys for the teams and balls.The event saw the attendance of a very large crowd who came to support their various teams and also to have a look at the ultra-modern court which no other court in kaduna state has. The aim of the event was to revive the game of basketball in the state and the school has promised to host this event annually to uplift the game and to give youths an avenue to showcase their skills because such competitions are were talents are discovered.

IMPERIAL WINS NESTLE MILO BASKETBALL COMPETITION IN KADUNA
The Nestle basketball competition for secondary schools in Nigeria kicked off in Kaduna state in March 2003. Imperial School has advanced to the second stage of the competition haven brushed aside stiff
competition from Dambo International School 46-40 at the end of the preliminaries for colleges in the Sabo Tasha division of Kaduna South in a match played recently at Queen Amina's court. The School is to square up with the winner from the southern part of Kaduna possibly from Kagoro area in the next phase.. The Parents Teachers Association has already sent in a congratulatory message on the sweet victory. Meanwhile a sports enthusiast in Kaduna state has made a presentation of a complete set of basketball canvass shoes to the team to enable it pursue the campaign. The representative of the enthusiast Mr. Isaac has meanwhile appealled to the students to exhibit high level of discipline throughout the competition. The games Master of the School Mr. Bulus plegded to do the School and friends proud by winning the trophy.Imperial went on to win in state finals played at the Ahmadu Bello stadium indoor gymnasium.This made the school qualify to represent kaduna in the conference playoffs which was held in Kano state.Imperial got to the finals but was defeated by the school representing Katsina state by 69-65.
