COUNSELLOR'S
DESK
The guidance and counselling Department organised series
of programs to sensitize students on various issues affecting
the society recently. One of such was a lecture on "
Effects of Fake and adulterated Drugs on society" delivered
by Dr. F. Awoniyi and Mrs. Debras of Ahmadu Bello University
Teaching hospital and St. Gerald's Catholic Hospital Kakuri
Kaduna respectively.Many career talks were also held on
such area as
Medicine, Nursing, Engineering and others. There are plans
to hold similar talks on career prospects in the Nigeria
Police Force, The Army and other Services of the military
by some officers of the force.The talks were very educative
and keenly followed by students as can be seen from the
questions asked by them.
The
Management of the school also made a presentation of a complete
set of musical instuments to the School band to improve
vocational training in the School. In her reply, the counsellor
Mrs. Odili thanked the
management for her great strides in the promotion of functional
education in the state and promised that the students will
make the best use of the instruments which had since been
put into use.
