Our Curriculum

Imperial School started full academic activities on Sept. 1997 with the JSS1 and JSS2 classes and had smoothly progressed into the senior secondary segments of the 6-3-3-4 system. The School has graduated her first SS3 students in the 2001/2002 academic year and has still continued to graduate youths we know will contribute to the building of our society ever since.

Subjects offered in the JSS 1 level are as follows:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Integrated Science
  • Religious Studies (CRS, IRS)
  • Physical Education
  • Agricultural Science
  • Nigerian Language (Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba)
  • Computer Studies
  • Introductory Technology
  • Home Economics
  • French

Each student at the Senior Secondary level takes the six core subjects:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics/Further Mathematics
  • Geography/English Literature
  • A science subject
  • Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Wood, Metal or Home Management
  • A Nigerian Language

In addition, a student chooses three subjects from the following options:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry, Art or Geography
  • Economics
  • Government
  • Religious Studies
  • French

The school offers two exams at the JSS 3 level. Examinations conducted by NECO Minna (just like all federal government colleges) and those by Education Resource Centre Zaria for Kaduna state Ministry of Education. The examinations conducted by NECO Minna and those of WAEC are offered by those at SS level. Students are coached for Joint Admissions and Matriculations Examinations.
